This is a classic that my colleagues and I were talking about over lunch.

Eddie Izzard did a stand-up routine about how it would be like at the Death Star canteen. By itself it was hilarious, but some genius decided to make a stop-motion video of it using LEGO making it a visual comical masterpiece!

Berlin brothel offers discounts for cyclists

BERLIN (Reuters) – A Berlin brothel has come up with a novel way to negate the impact of the global economic crisis and target a new group of customers at the same time -- offering a discount to patrons who arrive on bicycles.

"The recession has hit our industry hard," said Thomas Goetz, owner of the "Maison d'envie" brothel.

"Obviously we hope that the discount will attract more people," he added. "It's good for business, it's good for the environment -- and it's good for the girls."

Customers who arrive on bicycle or who can prove they took public transportation get a 5-euro (4 pounds) discount from the usual 70-euro ($100) fee for 45 minute sessions, Goetz told Reuters. He said the environmentally friendly offer was working.

"We have around 3-5 new customers coming in daily to take advantage of the discount," he said, adding the green rebate has helped alleviate traffic and parking congestion in the neighbourhood.

Germany is one of the few countries in the world where prostitution is legal. It has about 400,000 prostitutes who, since 2002, have been allowed to enter formal labour contracts.

Not only are these lovely ladies helping to stimulate consumer spending (among other things), but they are also doing their bit to help ease Berlin's traffic AND also saving the environment by reducing the carbon footprint!

Japanese Toilet Training (Shimajiro) - Muzu-Muzu!

There's something about Japanese kiddie programs... They aren't filled with pearly-white-teeth-high-on-sugar-and-who-knows-what-else kids like the ones in Barney, but neither would I call them anything normal... Or at least normal to what I have been brought up with (I love my Electric Company and Sesame Street).

Shima-kun!

My kids love this Japanese educational kiddie program called Shimajiro by Benesse. It's a cartoon child tiger who teaches kids all about manners, colours, shapes, play and also... toilet training. Yup, this little tiger also teaches kiddies how to do the poo-poo and pee-pee in the loo-loo. How cool is that?

At first I thought that it was just down right weird, but strangely enough, it works! My son, Rei, is now toilet trained and he knows all the key words and catchphrases like "unchi" (poo), "chichi" (pee) and my personal favourite - MUZU-MUZU (the feeling of the tummy or bottom when it's time to do the bizzo).

Muzu-muzu!

And what about that darn toilet song! The one that Shimajiro's parents sing in the video! One of those tunes you just get in your head and can't get out... And not in a good way!

Rei even knows which button to press to indicate what type of business he's gonna do and the second button to go "I DID IT!".

Bet Big Bird never thought anything this on Sesame Street!
